The Oak Titmouse is a small, active songbird found in oak woodlands along the North American West Coast. With its plain brownish-gray plumage and short crest, it blends in with its surroundings but is often detected by its fast, scratchy calls. Unlike many songbirds, it forms long-term pair bonds, with mated pairs staying together year-round. They nest in tree cavities or nest boxes, using soft materials like fur and moss to line their nests. Oak Titmice flit through branches in search of insects, seeds, and acorns, rarely staying in one spot for long.
